		<description>I used to notice this a lot when I worked as an editor. The more successful magazines seemed to know that white space was like breathing room -- essential for good design. The less successful magazines crammed their space full of so much clutter, it was overwhelming to look at.

They reasoned that printing was expensive and therefore every square inch was prime real estate, but they weren&#039;t doing themselves any favors by avoiding white space and wide margins.</description>
